Rufous-sided Towhee

Dear Diary,

A new kid on the block.  This little Towhee was quite happy picking up the seeds dropped by Gaylord and Rudy.  This is my first sighting of a Towhee this year.  I just love his dapper air and his eyes that match his red feathers.  They always have such an intense look to them.

The rain has let up, for the time being, but it is supposed to be unsettled all week.  So, feeding my friends has to occur between downpours I guess.  They are very patient though and I think they know that they will be rewarded eventually.  I will be going away for a few days on Wednesday and I hate leaving them but there are other sources of food now so they will be fine.
