Painted Trillium

We spent a miserably cold and windy day in the Monongahela National Forest at the Cranberry Glades Botanical Area. It was in the high thirty degrees (Fahrenheit) and raining, hailing, windy, you name it. We saw one or two actual birds, but mostly we looked at wildflowers. This is one of them.

The festival finished up tonight with a lovely farewell dinner and a performance by The Rain Crows - two of whom are also birding guides.

Heading home tomorrow.
