Eastern male Towhee

A lovely Towhee couple enchanted our afternoon on the patio. T had the binoculars and I my old trusty Nikon with the 300mm Nikkor. With lots of cropping you can see him in his glory with his red eye. His brown mate is in the extra. They make a chewink  sound and love to rummage around in the undergrowth. I was so happy to get some shots of them.Mr. had found a seed and was eating it in the bush by the bird feeders. Then he saw a nick in the branch and thought it was a bigger seed I think. He studied it closely, then flew off.

This day came in rainy with spotty showers followed by sun.


All hands worried about the French elections.
