A view from Jeanneb

By Jeanneb53

What's outside my window.

I know this isn't my window but I'm not going to be home during the current blip challenge and this will be the view from the window for the coming week, as it has been for one week a year since 2010!
I think you can see why we keep coming back! I always sit in this spot either sewing or reading and listening to the radio, watching the changing view. I took this at 17.50 just after we arrived and now at 20.20, the same view is bathed in evening sun.

In the centre of the picture is the beach and the blue line increases or decreases with the tide coming and going. There is a river to the farside and always a spit of sand even at high tide. The mountains from left to right are; Stac Pollaidh, Cul Beag, Beinn an Eoin, Ben More Coigach. The distant mountains further to the right are the Torridon range.

We left our accommodation on Skye at 9.00am and travelled through Torridon to get here today. We stopped at Attadale Gardens by Loch Caron for a coffee break and look around en route. Beautiful spring shrubs, azaleas and rhododendrons in flower and also the glorious Mecanopsis - Himalayan blue poppy - extra. We've tried to grow these and failed but we see them in gardens up here every year.

Carrying on through fabulous scenery all the way, we stopped for a late lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe at Kinlochewe then on to Ullapool for a stock up shop. Can't believe it took us so long but many of the roads are single track.

Now settling in for the evening having had a glass and eaten a nice salad with the ever present view for company we are very content just to be here.
