Hadrian's wall

The day was spent walking a section of Hadrian's wall and a circular route taking in Housesteads fort and Vindolanda, about 8 miles in total. The museum at Vindolanda was particularly good and I was fascinated by the tablets that have been found that give a real insight into life in the Roman Empire.
