Britain's largest painted ceiling

Today l climbed up through 60 feet of scaffolding to view the ceiling in the Painted Hall in the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. Painted in 1720s and last renovated over 100 years ago it is now being cleaned and touched up where necessary, and the public are being given the opportunity to have a really close up view of this enormous painting. I could have reached out and touched it although when so close you cannot get an overall view and l will have to go back in two years time to see the completed version. The extra shows the scaffolding, a work of art in its own right, which took 4 months to effect.
