Terracotta

Spotted in the Southbourne area of Bournemouth.
 
This spectacular architectural terracotta in buff and red is on the corner of a building called Julian Terrace and my research leads me to believe that it was made in a factory of Carter & Co. The factory took over the business of James Walker and his Walker Patent Encaustic and Mosaic Ornamental Brick and Tile Manufactory on East Quay, Poole in Dorset.
 
Eventually through name changes and takeovers, this became the world famous Poole Pottery
