Home grown

As a birthday treat we visited a garden centre for some bedding plants to brighten the garden. They had an amazing variety and choosing was tricky. Although an allotment is not the way I see things going, the garden centre had some small vegetable plants for growing in pots and tubs and some sizeable wooden troughs. All I need to do is identify a suitable sunny patch in the garden then that's big enough and home grown veg could be on the menu, or at least a salad bar!

I saw the man walking back from his allotment again today. I'm wondering if I can build up a stock of characters. With his hands thrust deep into his pockets, he strode along quite determinedly at a substantial pace. Not exactly hurried but with an air of someone who had somewhere to be.
