From Selfie to Self-Expression
THURSDAY
I visited the Saatchi Gallery on King's Road this morning to view the "From Selfie to Self-Expression exhibition in order to tick another item on my "to do" list.
What a fab exhibition. It started with images of self-portraits by famous artists from Monet to Picasso. The next gallery included more recent self portraits such as Warhol and Tracey Emin.
There was a gallery with true selfies by the rich and famous - Tom Cruise, Barack Obama, George Harrison and the like. Then extreme selfies such as astronauts in space and bare chested Jananese men on snowy mountain peaks.
A gallery of the bizarre, such as Juno Calypso (main blip) who, posing as a travel writer and with a suitcase of costumes and wigs, was given keys to Honeymoon Resorts across Pennsylvania.
There were plenty of interactive displays, a selection of "fake news" type selfies such as Donald Trump eyeing-up Miss Mexico at the Miss Universe competion and a gallery with 3 walls of live selfies - see extra.

Lunch at Partridges on Kings Road, a stroll to the V&A, a walk round Hyde Park to Speakers' Corner, then to Oxford Street.
Almost bought a new iPad Mini4 in John Lewis until the assistant explained the recent price reduction is due to the imminent release of a new model. I'll wait for the Mini5.
Walked all the way back to the hotel on Albert Embankment. 25,000 steps in total today.
Couldn't be bothered to go out for dinner tonight and settled for room service.
If you are visiting London I highly recommend the selfie exhibition. It's free admission and photographs are allowed throughout. It's on for another 3 weeks.
