Thames Crossing

On board the Shepperton foot ferry.

Part of the Thames path, when travelling westbound it crosses from Weybridge on the south bank to Shepperton on the north bank.

Proudly known as the most expensive water crossing in the world, measured by cost versus distance travelled. It takes about 3 minutes to get across.

The ferry has been running for over 500 years, and even gets a mention as a battle scene in War Of The Worlds. (Text here).
