Owl

MrM drove us to Kielder, as Angus was very keen to visit the bird of prey centre there. We managed to watch both the flying displays - a buzzard, owls and a black vulture, among others, took to the air, and two large pelicans wandered free for a while. I was quite pleased when the gauntlet was put on my hand a couple of times, for close encounters with a barn owl and a rather beautiful black vulture! Afraid I can't remember what sort of owl this is. 

Later in the afternoon MrM drove us to Kielder Castle, where we had a pleasant walk by the river and back through the woods. Then on to the Redesdale Arms for a meal before returning home.
