Franschhoek
From penguins and the Atlantic to inland. We are in the wine region of Western Cape. Stellenbosch is probably better known; Franschhoek is higher up in the mountains and means 'French Corner'. It was settled in the late 17th and early 18th century by French Huguenots escaping repression. It's a small quaint town with only one Main Street but around 48 Vineyards in the locality. We stumbled upon one by accident this afternoon on a walkabout and it turned out to be owned by Richard Branson.
