Penshaw Ornament

This shot of a well known Wearside monument signifies (for me) the start of the gardening season (aka throwing money into the soil to feed the snails).
There is one bright side to this annual folly and that is the cafe´ across the road that does superb bacon baps.  See extra.  

I paid for those too.  Well actually MrsDB did although they only came to £7.80 including tea.  She borrowed a tenner, kept the change and told me she'd give me the £7.80 when we get home.  Have I missed something here?
