Giants on the beach!

We are in Florida for two weeks - on Sanibel Island, near Fort Myers on the Gulf coast. We left home in Cincinnati yesterday about 1.30 pm and drove as far as Tifton, Georgia, a couple of hours south of Atlanta - about 9 hours driving, but easy navigation - I-75 all the way down to Florida! We were on the road again by about 9.30 this morning, and after a stop for lunch, arrived on the island about 4.30. Having picked up the keys to our rented apartment, and unloaded the car, we headed off to the beach, eager to see the ocean and stretch our legs after spending so long in the car. We have stayed in the same apartment complex before - back in May 2010, that time in the company of our daughter Jen and her husband, and our daughter Laura and her college room mate Kelli. It is just a short walk to the beach across a lagoon. Although hot and sunny, it was pretty windy, so the sea was quite churned up, so whilst Roger went in for a dip, I stayed on the beach and read my book. Then it was time to do a bit of grocery shopping, have a late dinner out, and turn in for the night!
