Ladies who lunch!

I was at a charity lunch today. A good time was had by all and it raised money for MUMs. (Malawi Underprivileged Mothers). The new book, When the Rain Comes was launched at the lunch.
MUM's recipes was launched in 2005 after a one night shift in the Simpson's Maternity Unit in Edinburgh May 2005, Linda McDonald heard the stories and saw photographs of one of the worst maternity hospitals in Malawi. Babies dying daily, lying on a rack in a filthy sluice, and mothers were dying weekly due to lack of resources. It was shocking in this day and age and most shocking of all knowing their deaths were avoidable. Therefore Linda set out to try and help raise money for a better chance for these mothers and babies.
