Stronsay farm

I went to Stronsay today with members of the local RSPB group. We were lucky because it stayed sunny all day, though it wasn't very warm. We drove to the Lochs of Matpow and Rothiesholm (pronounced, I believe, something like 'rissum') and the nearby sands then along to Holland farm where we sat in a hide overlookingLea Shun. A flock of about 800 wigeon came in- probably their first landing since leaving Iceland. Lots of shovelers, teal, some gadwall etc. We didn't get any rarities but were watching a flock of black-tailed godwits when a big male peregrine came shooting through.
