Mush!
For those of you who poked a little fun at my poor doggies yesterday, I thought today I'd blip the real deal. These are true sled dogs in training. The trainers use the ATV, because it gives them more control than a sled while working out the dogs. Today there were about 60 dogs out at the local conservation lands where they train, and this was the last team out -- the misfits and retirees, so to speak (the dogs -- not the women). The orange-ish dog in the lead, Tonka, had a broken back earlier in the year. His vet thought he'd never walk, let alone run or lead a team.
Some other shots from the day:
Gremlin <-- they use Alaskan huskies rather than Siberian huskies
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun <-- eat your hearts out, boys!
Job Perk for Yours Truly <-- yes, that's me on a dog sled! and yes it was a BLAST!!
