Leaves in the sun

I was looking for a picture to follow yesterday's sunrise. There was another beautiful sunrise this AM, but I wanted to photograph something different. About 20 minutes after the sunrise, I saw this gorgeous golden light and decided to take advantage of it. I took many pictures including numerous ones of a canoe and decided to go with this one. I will try the canoe again tomorrow assuming that the light cooperates.

Credit to this technique goes to Understanding Exposure. A great book that talks all about how to improve your photography. The author suggests shooting into the sun and using something to cover the direct light and prevent overexposure. In this picture, I used a leaf and am happy with the results.
