"The Place That Sends You Mad"

There is an Asterix and Obelix movie entitled "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix". The 8th task is to get Permit A38 from "The Place That Sends You Mad". As soon as I walked into the Immigration Tower it was the first thing I thought of, if they ever make a live action version of it this would be the perfect setting. The ceilings feel lower, it looks like there are escalators going in every direction and people are rushing to and from over nine floors. At the main enquiries desk I was given a form and told to go to another floor. After filling in the form and standing in another line at another enquiries desk I was sent to wait at another desk for a manager. After explaining the saga of two passports for the third time I was informed that I now need a copy of my birth certificate, my fathers passport and a letter explaining the situation, again. So I will have to go back another day to get that done and then to the Chinese visa office  to finally (hopefully) apply for the visa and then back again to pick it up. This whole drama is about to send me mad.
