Tornado Training
The engine Tornado, pulling the Heart of Midlothian on the East Coast mainline, today.
We heard that it was due past at 16.20 so, Linz and I went and stood on the bridge ten minutes early, just in case. After an hour of standing in the bitterly cold wind, Lindsey was starting to get towards the point of feeling mildly impatient ("Can we go now. it's not coming, let's go now... etc. You get the picture)
Then just as even I was starting to wonder if it was worth it for the five seconds of seeing a train, it burst round the bend, streaming smoke and steam behind it.
And it WAS worth it!
