The Cleland Testimonial Building
Today we took the train into the city. It was a lovely sunny day and got quite warm in the sunshine. While having coffee in John Lewis, and overlooking Buchanan Street, I noticed this building, and was very impressed with it. When we came home I checked the internet for some information on it, as follows:
'James Cleland was a Scottish statistician, known also as a historical writer.
The "Cleland Testimonial" building in Buchanan Street, Glasgow, was designed by David Hamilton and was completed in 1836 James Cleland lived there at the end of his life. It is now a category B listed building.'
In the afternoon at home we had a quiet hour out on the decking, and I took the extra of the goldfinch which we watched for some time.
