Well groomed

In North Indian weddings, the groom arrives for the ceremony on a mare accompanied by his family and friends who walk and dance alongside and in front of the horse, accompanied by a marching band, complete with horns and drums and singing. The bridal party are usually waiting at the gate of the venue with flower garlands to welcome the groom.

The groom often carries a sword, wears a decorative veil over his face so he can't see the bride until given permission to do so. The mares too are special wedding horses and are decorated in velvet sashes, beads and baubles of their own.

This beauty was going home with her carer after a night of work, cantering along a major highway with the rest of the traffic.
