CALIFORNIA QUAIL:

I often have a covey through the garden, but usually they never come near the house. This morning there was a bunch feeding in my front courtyard, but when I opened the back door, they very quickly dispersed. Not many here but at least a sign that they were !! I notice there is always a male overseeing proceedings, usually sitting up high somewhere.
A lovely day for the walking group. Warm with no wind.
