All in a Row
14.3C and bright then sunny in the afternoon. Easterly wind to 30 mph with gusts to 43 mph.
On Saturday evening Apothecary7 and I met up with Houseonahill6 and her husband. After their holiday on Arran and Islay they had come down to Campbeltown to explore the South of Kintyre while they were in this part of Scotland so we had dinner then came back to our house for some tea. Hopefully we can meet up again later in the year when we are in Ullapool.
Grocery shopping.
We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. No seals on the rocks and in the sea next to the shore at Kiel.
At Carskey we walked along to the far end and came back again. The waves were quite spectacular, crashing over and running up the beach very quickly. Two seals bobbed about in the breakers watching us as we walked along. There were several Gannets diving. On the beach Oystercatchers, Ringed Plovers, and what we think were Sanderlings still in Winter plumage. The Sanderlings were working their way along the line where the waves were running up the beach, occasionally having to run up the sand away from the next wave. Photo at the extreme end of my optical plus digital zoom, so not as sharp as I normally like.
There were three boxes of eggs for sale at Little farm's roadside stand today. I bought a box.
F1 live in telly from Russia this afternoon. A Mercedes win, with Ferrari 2nd and 3rd. Exiting.
Later Apothecary7 was painting.
Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
