Blackpool Illuminations 2012

Because it was such a warm evening, we had an evening drive to Blackpool to see this year's illuminations.

We walked from Bispham to North Pier, then took the tram back. It's been a long while since we last went, so it was a surprise to us that the old fashioned trams have now been replaced but stylish modern cars. I did get excited when I saw that the illuminated trams were still running - took me back to my childhood when we tried to 'spot' them on our walks.

We left just before 11pm, after a chippy supper - to find ourselves in a huge traffic jam on the M55. It took over an hour to get to the M6, and we didn't get home until well after 1am!
