Canberra Day 3 - Visit to the War Memorial

My paternal grandfather's cousin (my cousin twice removed) was Arthur Alfred Newman and he was killed in action at Ypres, France during the Great War.
He died on 3rd October, 1917, aged 29 and has no known grave.
His Service number was 4583A. He enlisted in the army on 4th November, 1916 at Goulburn, NSW.  At the time he was a shop assistant.
Arthur briefly joined the 30th Battalion but then transferred to the 35th.

He is listed here on Panel 125, Commemorative Area, Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Australia. Arthur's name is also recorded at 29 The Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.

Layered as a background is the beautiful memorial dome from inside the War Memorial.

Rest in Peace cousin. It will soon be the centenary of your death.
