Drama unfolding

Shortly before 10 this morning I heard this helicopter. Nothing unusual in that except that it continued to buzz overhead doing repeated circuits. I watched for a while and exchanged several texts with my neighbour as we tried to determine what was happening. It continued to do circuits nearby for probably an hour before I gave up and decided I needed to do other things. We often have people lost or injured (and who die) in the vast expanse of bush behind my place and helicopters overhead are fairly common. 

All seems quiet now so maybe whatever drama was unfolding has now concluded - I hope without serious harm to anyone. We do have a big endurance event in the bush behind here but that happens in May so can't have been that, though people are often seen training for the event beforehand. 

Anyone local know anything???
