'First thought, best thought' — write it fresh —
isn't that a Howl?

The Buddhists taught him
spontaneity in words
carries deepest truth.

Rising from non-thought —
mind in meditative peace —
first thought enlightens.

Often so with art —
first drawing truest and best
though much paint follows.
