Selfies from the Brink

Impressions from Marabá

After a short nap yesterday, I took a stroll through Marrabá and fell in love with this small, very colorful town. It was around 3 PM, so I was almost the only one out in the streets. The heat is incredible. A combination of high temperatures and very high humidity is perfect for anyone who loves to run around in a soaked t-shirt.
I'm back on the streets now to get some coffee before my bus leaves at 8 AM. Haven't heard from my Dad yet. He should be in São Félix by now. I tried to call him, but the phone number he gave me from his organization's head quarters doesn't exist. I hope he calls me before I have to leave.
There will also be a nation wide strike against some of the recent measures from federal government. I have no idea if this will affect my trip. Road blocks from protesters are possible.
This picture shows Senhor Barnabé, a fisherman, fixing his net.
