Teamwork

Tonight was the Southern Group of Motoring Writers' annual fun evening and charity fund-raiser, the Karting Grand Prix. Twenty teams of motor industry PR folk competed to win our coveted steering wheel trophy.

The venue is a tough three-level indoor kart track in Crawley, West Sussex. By the end of the two and a half hours of endurance racing, the victorious team - for the second year running - was Ford, with Audi second and Fiat-Alfa third.

We're rather proud that the evening raised £4,800 for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, which delivers A&E life-saving treatment to the roadside.
