Rock pooling
I had a day at home, so dig a major weeding session in the rose garden in the morning. The soil is really dry at the moment, which makes things a little easier.
This afternoon though, Rob and I went to Walney Island with Steve Benn, to check out the wildlife at low tide.
There is a fascinating reef growing out there, built not by coral but by sand worms.
It forms a low, rigid structure, quite fragile underfoot so we avoided walking on it where possible.
We saw quite a variety of little creatures, and the weather was amazing, bright and breezy.
What a stunning place!
