2D representation of spacetime
Went to a lecture by Professor Jim Hough on detecting gravitational waves. The talk was extremely good. He made it sound really easy, even though they are trying to detect a signal of 1 part in 10^21, absolutely tiny. They managed recently to measure the gravitational waves a 100 years after Einstein predicted them. They were the last bit that came out of the Theory of General Relativity that was experimentally observed. I also learned that the Southern US is dangerous: alligators get annoyed when they don't get any chicken after they have been used to it. To be honest, they can't be blamed.
