Carmine Superiore

The weather continue to be cr*p so we stayed low and did another woodland walk today, from Cannero Riviera to Cannibio. Fewer shrines, more boulders, and some fascinating little hamlets like Carmine Superiore: originally built as a fortress in 975AD, it perches on the edge of a river gorge and is only accessible via mule tracks. We rewarded ourselves with a fabulous lunch in Lascola, Cannobio, before getting a ferry back. Hard life...
