The Police Fairy

Today was the Ellerslie Fairy Festival. We've been coming to this event since 2007 after we'd returned to NZ. Thirteen years it has been running, and it has not ever been rained off. That's some achievement. Must be fairy magic.

The main street gets closed off for all the fairies to descend. Lots of shows and fairies to meet. I was particularly impressed with this officer who really got into the spirit of the day.

We saw lots of people from our local area, which isn't where this is held, plus an old school friend and we bumped into my sister in law, her partner and their 2 children. Didn't get a chance to speak to anyone in any great detail as there always has to be an eye on what's going on, as there's a LOT of people there, and it would be easy to lose children.
