~Baby Jesus Ridge~

~An Encroaching Storm~

There is always a ray of hope, a bright spot amid the gathering storm, a light to set one's sights on. That was true today while watching the weather move into the mountains. I watched this event for about a hour, just thinking and reflecting. Maybe getting a little melancholy, but in the end being a happier person. Mother Nature has that effect on me, if I just let her do her thing.

The elevation of Baby Jesus Ridge is 3,500 feet though the cloud shrouded Catalinas behind the ridge are 9,000 feet in elevation. Many ancient petroglyphs cover this area, it seems the primitive inhabitants consider this a sacred locale as did the more modern name-giver. Apparently from a specific location, when gazing at the ridge, it bears the likeness of the Baby Jesus laying in his crib. The storm blew through with little rain or lightning, but created some very dramatic images and emotions.

And I discovered something while writing Mike's eulogy tonight, for his impending laying to rest. The writing will serve the writer more than anyone else. It brings back to life my friendship and the good times we had together as best friends forever. But its tough, where do you start, at the beginning I guess. And where do end, at the ending I guess. And in between, that is where you put all the good stuff and it's all good stuff!

Thanks for stopping by and checking.
Getting my smile back again, TucsonJim ;o)
