Hippo - b&w

Today I have been reviewing a lot about the zone system and how it works for digital. I used the zone system when I shoot and processed film but never really got it to work for me digitally. This is my first attempt. I used harsh lighting and a black on black subject. I think for my first attempt it's not all bad.

This hippo was Murphy Bear's first toy ever. She finally ripped the head off a few weeks ago. Little Hippo was the only toy that lasted through her early puppy hood. I like that the photo shows all the details that it has been through.
