Suggestions ?

Suggestions on how to better photograph people who wear glasses?
This is my son who wears extremely thick glasses.
I often find myself struggling with glare, with smudge on the lenses or a look that is not clear and sharp.
He has the most beautiful long eyelashes and the most gorgeous brown eyes. I want to be able to capture it in a photograph.
