Clocking Off!

Since my surgery, I have ongoing problems with my arm and mild lymphodema, but for the last couple of days it's been painful to stretch it fully sideways or to raise it. Anyway this morning I mentioned it at work, and Shaughan our Practice Manager said that Sarah, one of our physiotherapists, had a free slot so go and see her. She said I didn't have to pay anything, they would pay her! And she then proceeded to sit in my seat and cover my job while I was gone. As I was saying yesterday, it's really lovely working for such nice people.

Anyway, after a 45 minute session my arm felt much better, it's still 'tight', but I think it's a problem that's called 'cording' and can happen after the lymph nodes have been removed. I've got some exercises to do, alongside my swimming and I've got an appointment with the lymphodema therapist in a couple of weeks.

On my way home from work, I called in at the pharmacy to pick up my prescription for my lymphodema sleeve and the pharmacist asked if I'd already paid for it. I explained that I have an exemption card, to which she asked what exemption it is. I told her it was Breast Cancer and she replied 'lovely', but then instantly realised what she said and said she was sorry and didn't mean that it was lovely that I'd had cancer - it was a really funny moment and is the kind of thing that I do or say, so I just laughed and told her not to worry. She's so lovely and I'm sure she just wanted the floor to swallow her up poor woman. I just walked out chuckling :-)

Anyway, I'm now finished work and it's an extra long weekend. Rose & Randy are on the plane and will land in Heathrow at 10.45pm and will be with us tomorrow when we head to France & Belgium for a few days.

This clock is at Palmeira Square which I blipped the other week, so thought it was a perfect blip to mark the end of my day.

Tonight I'm out with the BB's so I'd better go and get ready!
