Feeding time

The cold wind died down this afternoon so after eating some lunch I went and sat on the patio. I had watched the new behaviour of the blackbirds who are now able to eat from these feeders by approaching the perches and then flapping their wings to enable them to hover. Bothe the male and female blackbrids are now able to do this although only one is proficient and can feed there easily.

I waited and waited and as soon as the blackbirds saw me they flew rapidly away. Many other birds were much less worried. This bird doesn't find it easy to sit on  the perch but kept returning to try to grab a sunflower seed, which it did manage most of the time.
