The Establishment
The marching band marched,

Around a small world.
Second day of our trip to Leicester. Went over to Coventry for the day to see the cathedral.... somewhere I have wanted to visit for many years.
For those that don't know, Coventry was very heavily bombed during the 2nd world war and the cathedral was all but destroyed. The shell of the old cathedral remains, but a new cathedral was built alongside in the early 60's (I think). the new cathedral was designed by Basil Spence and is a marvel of modern architecture. Much of the stained glass is designed by John Piper. It is a truly wonderful place - I have put some more images on Flickr.
It was St Georges day, so there was a parade by the Scouts, complete with band. They marched round the cathedral precinct a couple of times before disappearing somewhere else. I just couldn't resist the formality of the marching as they went past a place called The Establishment .....
In extras, the light filtering through one of the fabulous windows.
