Reliable Joy

I had to wait until almost dark to get my blip for today...I knew this moonflower (datura) would be opening tonight!   It is one of the flowers that I grow that I know brings me joy... just watching it open and then smelling the fragrance...a reliable joy!   They only bloom at night and are usually fallen over and dying by 10am in the morning depending on the heat.     This plant is one that came back from the dead stump in the pot from last year.  I put some fertilizer on it when I saw the little green leaves coming back and it has taken off..there are 4 other buds.   A second plant is in another pot and it has 5 buds on it.  I am hoping they might open up at the same time but that usually does not happen.

These flowers will bloom on until the fall!
