ANZAC Day
was marked today with services and parades in every town and city the length and breadth of the country. We joined thousands of others for a moving Dawn Service at Muruika, Ohinemutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua. Muruika is the resting place of members of the Pioneer Battalion and 28th Maori Battalion. It is a beautiful, tranquil and spiritual place. Due to thermal activity here the graves are set above ground.
In the words of this mornings guest speaker
' We are giving up a morning of our lives to acknowledge those who gave up every morning of the rest of their lives '
