ANZAC……………….

Today we commemorate ANZAC Day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
These photos were taken at the dawn parade in Motueka, NZ
The White Crosses as shown in the extra photo are placed nearby.
Each cross is named for a soldier killed in World War One from the local community.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and int eh morning
We will remember them

Of note for WW1 - 103,000 New Zealanders served overseas from a population of 1.1 million. There were 59,500 casualties with 18,200 dead and 41,300 wounded.
