Tea in a tunnel

Today I was persuaded to join a U3A visit to Glencruitten Walled Garden. For those who don't know the area, Glencruitten is an estate on the edge of town and the Walled Garden is used by the Green Shoots group, run by the charity Hope 2 Oban - you can read all about them here

We were shown round by gardener John Petit who runs the project with his wife Catriona. As well as the charitable work they do, there are several beds used by local folk for growing vegetables - I might try one as a fine day alternative to my beds in the tunnel at Glen Lonan.

You may notice that many folk are wearing coats and woolly hats - this is because of the hail and snow showers which punctuated the sunshine! We finished up having a cuppa and biccies in one of the polytunnels. A good afternoon out!
