Dear Diary,

It has been really quite comical in the yard recently.  Two big tom turkeys have been strutting their stuff for Tootsie and Tillie to admire.  I caught them deep in discussion over the relative merits of each tom.  I don't know what conclusions, if any, they arrived at but they soon tired of the parade and went about their foraging.  The toms, on the other hand, never gave up the display.  You have to admire their determination.

Tootsie has returned to the seed bowls and Tillie seems inclined to join her from time to time.  I have to say, there is nothing so pretty as turkey feathers in the sunlight.  Now Philly and Gaylord and Rudy have to contend with them but now is also the time that they will be seeking sustenance in other places in the forest so I am not worried.

In a few months I will have little turkeys in the yard.  Last year there were 14 young ones!  We'll see what all this fancy strutting produces this year.
