My Beloved Arria...
Just a drive by shooting of Arria. I miss living just round the corner from her and seeing her close up. I must visit her properly soon.
Up sharp this morning to get organised and have the bacon rolls ready for my nephew Andrew, his pal Steven and dad Kenny arriving late morning. They had hired a van and were coming to pick up the two sofas from Alan's living room and our old dishwasher to go to Andrew and his girlfriend Nikki's new house.
The second most hilarious moment of the day was watching Andrew and Steven huffing and puffing as they carried the sofa out the front door only to be followed by Kenny and David carrying the cushions! Spot the old guys! :-))
Alan was still getting dressed when we left to follow them back down the road to the new house and would think the bailiffs had arrived when he saw his living room!
Arrived at Andrew and Nikki's at the same time as other friends of theirs. Ele was already there so we arrived just in time with the sofas as until then there was nowhere to sit.
Their house is looking great. They've done loads since getting the keys on Thursday. Painted everywhere, carpets have been fitted, curtains up and one bed moved in. They are off to a great start.
Nikki had made a big pot of lentil soup so we all had a delicious bowl of that. Kenny managed to get the dishwasher plumbed in and much to all our relief, it fits in the space.
Andrew had set up the hose sprinkler to water the new turf in the back garden. It got stuck in the one position so Kenny popped out to have a look at it and managed to fix it. Unfortunately he wasn't fast enough in getting out the way of its jets and got absolutely soaked. That was the most hilarious moment of the day :-))
We left them about to attach the toilet roll holders and towel rails in the main bathroom and ensuite.
And now I must finish my online Tesco order otherwise the delivery will be arriving tomorrow with bread, milk and a bottle of bleach.
