Life's Little Moments

Repeat...

I'm afraid I'm just a sucker for a warbler so I'm going with a shot of my visiting Pine Warbler for the second time in 4 days.  I'm actually surprised he's still around, but apparently he finds the suet very much to his liking.  He's also not the least bit concerned about me and readily approaches within just a few feet.

Predictably, I woke up feeling a bit sore today (a gazillion pounds of mulch will do that to a person of a certain age) but after moving around for a while and popping an ibuprofin, I feel just fine now.  In fact, after a nice long chat with my parents, I went to one of my gardens and dug out a bunch of dandelions that were trying to take over.  Then, I got out the macro lens and chased a few insects around - nothing I really liked in terms of shots, but fun never the less.

MIL is over now, reclining in one of our comfy chairs in the living room, watching a little TV and snoozing.  We'll be making cedar planked salmon, green beans and a salad for dinner and then get her back over to the home around 7.

Hopefully tomorrow my sparrow trap will arrive and I'll be able to install it and trap that rascally sparrow.  I'm convinced he's keeping the bluebirds from finishing a nest and laying eggs.  He keeps landing on the two boxes they've staked out, causing one or both of them to chase him off.  Today both of them went after him together.  I guess the good news is that the bluebirds are still here, even if they haven't finished the nest yet.

And I think this may be the second time in six summers that I haven't had chickadees in one of my boxes.  Since they usually use a bluebird box, I'm guessing the House Sparrow spooked them too.  Sigh.

Thanks so very much for stopping by!
