Not a Curlew
In the last few days, Whimbrels have arrived in force, the majority being on passage to northern climes. They do look like a Curlew but the beak has that distinctive kink and the eye-stripe is prominent in a decent view. Best of all they call differently.
DS#2 continues to shut himself away scratching on his laptop at a dissertation. Students today - it was never like that in my youth.
