More Tree Swallows
The day started very cold but sunny and when my husband said he was headed out for a long run and then to the gym, I packed my camera gear to do my thing. I went back to see the swallows at Hughes Hollow. I chose this shot because it nicely shows their beautiful iridescent feathers. I have loaded an extra of one of the swallows peeking out of the nest box.
There were lots of birders about with their super-duper binoculars who reported they had heard and/or seen yellow warblers, prothonotary warblers, flycatchers, least bittern….well the list goes on and on. Of course, I had seen none of these. I suppose they wondered at my interest in the more common tree swallows and red-winged blackbirds, but they would have no way of knowing that I was badly in need of a blip, and that just hearing them does me absolutely no good.
