In Manor Kirk....

....and we sang....

Fair are the flowers,
Fairer still the sons of men
In all the freshness of youth arrayed...
Yet is their beauty
Fading and fleeting;
Lord Jesus, thine will never fade.

....if the exclusive nature of the words - "sons of men" - troubles you, blame it on the fact that the original (Schönster Jesu) first appeared in the Münster Gesangbuch of 1677!   (And the English translation is from c.1900!)

(Münster is a town in Westphalia, and "Gesangbuch" means hymnal.)
